Jaguar: doing what it does best
Jaguar recently launched a new car that has been described as its most important vehicle ever. The F-Pace is Jaguar’s first attempt at taking a chunk of the massive SUV market and it seems to have received positive reviews so far.
There’s no denying the F-Pace will sell in huge numbers and help to strengthen the Jaguar brand around the world. It starts at around £35,000 if you’re happy with the two-litre diesel, 2wd version, so there is actually a reasonably low barrier to ownership – that’s only a few thousand more than a hot hatch, and many owners will appreciate the opportunity to own such a premium brand.
As for Jaguar’s most important car ever? That’s up for debate. In our eyes, one of the most important cars that Jag has made recently is the XF – its large saloon, launched as a rival to the BMW 5-series and the E-class Mercedes.
Why? Well, it’s the car that helped to spark Jaguar’s upturn in fortunes. Its sharp looks, great ride and luxurious interior, along with great engines, really helped to haul the Jaguar brand into the 21st century. There’s no doubt the XF helped provide the platform for Jaguar to go on to create modern classics such as the F-Type, the XE and, now, the F-Pace.
We have a fantastic XF in stock at the moment; smooth 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine, full leather, heated seats and steering wheel, subtle colour and almost miraculously low mileage.
This 2010 (60 plate) XF has done just 8,000 miles and is, as you’d expect, in immaculate condition. That’s just over a thousands miles a year! This car has barely broken in, yet is available from us today at the staggering price of just £14,990.
